I’m Sydney Scout, and I’m running to make sure North Anchorage’s working families have a voice on the Assembly – one that fights for clean energy, better jobs, workforce infrastructure, and accessible & responsive government.
I’ve lived the challenges Anchorage families face: growing up here as the daughter of a mom who fought to keep me safe, building a life in this city as a first-time homeowner, and spending my career supporting local leaders and community organizations working to make change. I’ve spent years behind the scenes helping Alaskans organize, advocate, and win – now I’m ready to bring that experience to the Assembly and deliver for North Anchorage’s working families.
Together, we can ensure that our local government delivers real results, and that everyone in our community is treated with kindness and respect.

Why I’m Running
I was born and raised in Anchorage, and I’ve seen how local government shapes lives.
As a teenager in the family court system, a local judge gave me safety and a voice. When a special interest group later tried to oust him for being pro-choice, I wrote my first Letter to the Editor defending his record. That moment taught me a lesson I’ve never forgotten: local politics is deeply personal. It decides who is safe, who is heard, and who gets to thrive.
Since then, I’ve spent my career as a nonprofit leader and organizer—helping working people fight for better policies, lead campaigns, and bring big projects to life across Alaska and beyond.
Now I’m ready to bring that experience home to serve the community that raised me.
Let’s build an Anchorage that works for everyone—with energy independence, good jobs and housing, and accessible and responsive government.
If you’re ready for an Assembly member who shows up, listens, and gets to work, I’d be honored to earn your support.
